New Viz: Superstore KPI Dashboard (Based on a Real Client Dashboard)

Recently, we built a dashboard in collaboration with a client and their incredibly talented team. This Superstore KPI dashboard was inspired by this dashboard. I would call this the "light" version as it does not include a pile of functionality that is included in the actual dashboard (including the ability to choose from numerous different time frame options such as previous month, previous year, YTD, custom date range, etc). You can check it out here or by clicking on the image below. Hope you like it!

  1. Beautiful dashboard and I especially love the YoY trends by month. I have tried something similar but want the latest month to be at the end of the trend line vs Jan - Dec. I have tried a (probably an over complicated) calc to try to force the months to sort with latest at the end, but I find it breaks if filtering the data where there are nulls or 0s for a month value. Any tips of doing the monthly YoY trend but sorting the months so most recent month is last data point on the trend?

    1. Yes, that's exactly what I did in the actual client dashboard. In order to do it, I did not use an actual date on Columns. I used datediff in months from today and multiplied by a negative. So it would run -11, -10, -9...-1, 0. 0 would be the current month, -1 would be last month, etc. Labeling it with the months is an additional challenge, but I typically just use another sheet at the bottom, use a line mark, hide the lide and label the line ends. So it might show Sep and Aug at the beginning and end respectively. If you have troubles, just let me know: flerlagek@gmail.com.
