New Viz: Hey Alexa, Play Song Quiz

My family loves to play games on our Alexa.  We play Jeopardy, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, The Price is Right and did you know they even have virtual escape rooms???  It's so much fun!  Probably our favorite game to play on the Alexa is Song Quiz. You pick a genre and then go head-to-head with others. Alexa plays a clip of a song from that genre and then you have to guess the title of the song and the artist. You get points for either and bonus points for both. My teenagers always want to play with music from the 2020s or 2010s. I get absolutely crushed by them. Truth is, if the music was made after the year 2000, it isn't worth listening to (I sound like a grumpy old man).

If you play the game alone, Alexa will match you up against a random player somewhere in the world. I found this to be a really great way to enjoy cooking or cleaning up the kitchen. So I started playing 1980s pop against random folks from all over. Aaaaaaand, I crushed people! So I decided to track 100 games to see how I did and create a viz to analyze the results. I modeled the entire design around the actual Song Quiz logo, which is shown in the viz. Check it out here or click on the image. I hope you like it!

  1. Interesting Viz, although the highest scoring game seems to be off - while you have 20 perfect games (thus with a score of 200) and they also show up in the score distribution, the highest score is somehow listed as 190.
